The Brief

Enhancing the Customer Journey

Incredibly successful online, LKQ Euro Car Parts wanted that to also be reflected within its stores to complete and improve the customer journey, whether customers were collecting their order they placed online or shopping in-store.

Most of the Euro Car Parts’ Moss Lane store in Manchester is made up of bays for deliveries – with a small store/reception at the front of the hub. The layout of the store, or lack of, often saw customers walk straight up to the counter to ask for help. This combined with being the same queue as those looking to collect an order located in then warehouse behind, often caused confusion and lengthy queues.

LKQ Euro Car Parts wanted to futureproof the hub’s layout by speeding up and enhancing the customer journey with a separate collection point and customer services desk, as well as more interactive displays. The new layout needed to be able to showcase the latest and extended ranges and help drive basket spend through product add-on sales.

A New Look and the Start of a Successful Rollout

A modern and polished new look for the store with a clear customer journey and informative POS signage, creating a template for other LKQ Euro Car Parts stores to follow.

LKQ Euro Car Parts’ customer journey has been made clear with modern and cohesive POS signage and boards, providing a natural, shopper-friendly route through the store towards the two sections for customer service and collection point at the back. The boards created by Ignition CBS provide detailed information on typical queries customers may have, with the aim in assisting them before needing to ask for help.

On visiting the Manchester store, Andy Hamilton, CEO of LKQ Euro Car Parts, said it was: “Unlike any store I’ve been in,” and that he was “really pleased” with the finished look. So pleased, the company is set to rollout the design to other stores across the UK.
